Joe Browne Nicholson, a graduate of the University of Kentucky, has been actively involved in the insurance business for over twenty-five years. In 1977, Joe joined his father-in-law, John A. Bell III, at Cromwell Bloodstock Agency in Lexington, serving in various capacities, including bloodstock agent, equine insurance agent, equine appraiser, and ultimately President of that organization.
On the Monday after Kentucky Derby Day in May of 1993, Joe opened the doors of Nicholson Insurance Agency. Wanting to apply his experience to serve special clientele with their equine, farmowners, and related insurance needs, Joe was able to secure solid contracts with quality insurance carriers. Today Joe is proud to represent five top equine carriers and nearly twenty “A” rated property/casualty insurers.
In 1995 Joe earned the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor from the Professional Insurance Agents of America by completing the series of five courses and passing the rigorous written examinations.
Joe is also an active partner in Cambridge Insurance (www.cambridgeinsurance.net) , a full service independent property and casualty agency. Both Nicholson Insurance Agency and Cambridge Insurance operate from their office building located at 2300 Regency Road in Lexington, Kentucky.
